Our week in Phoenix (at least the second half after Dad arrived from CT) was dedicated to avoiding the 90 plus degree heat; our bodies were submerged in water at every opportunity. A giddy Max floated freely down the lazy river in his own personal inflatable tube while his big brother used the same tubes big boys and moms and dads use-- all by himself--when he wasn't hitching a ride on mom's back or riding down the waterslide. Will and cousin Thomas played and bickered and hugged and acted goofy. Monsters Inc was the DVD of choice. Gonzo the Gecko came out to see us. Waterfalls were the favorite sight. The shuttle was our favorite mode of transport. Dad and Will built a river city in the sand. Daiquiris were yummy. Grandma and Grandpa were generous as always and Will and Max wished they had more time with them.

backyard, before and now and the aftermath piled in the driveway (given away on craigslist); concrete to be poured in May.

Will Max and Dad create some public art

Max went in for his 9 month appt two days ago happy as a clam despite
discovering he had an ear infection in his left ear. Mom and Dad suspected
this since he had been waking up at night the four nights leading up to the
appt. So he is on antibiotics once again. He will go back in for an ear
check the first week of May and we will discuss the possibility of putting
tubes in his ears. He has had 4 ear infections since January and even
though the weather is getting warmer and the cold season is ending, these
things seem to just flare up once he goes off the antibiotics. Other than
that he is very healthy and is progressing just fine. Since he seems
uninterested in baby food these days, the doctor said we could move toward
more finger foods. We're hoping he starts eating a few more vegetables
because right now he just spits out the veggie baby foods. All of them.
(Except maybe carrots.) He is also doing very well with taking a sippy cup.

His stats are:
Weight = 19lbs 3oz (30%)
Height = 29" (75%)

Max is doing more babbling and is starting to understand more of what we
say. He understands NO and Mama, Dadda, and Will. And he loves to watch
his brother be a big goofball and laughs hysterically when Will throws the
diapers or his blanket in the air. He can stand on his own for a few
seconds but really hasn't shown an interest in walking given that he is now
a master crawler.

as Will and Dad were walking back from the park the other evening, we walked past a building and Will said "that's a church DaaDaa." and Dad said "yeah it has pretty stained glass colored windows, is that how you know it's a church?" and Will said "I knowed it was a church because i went with Grandma and Grandpa in Pittsburgh" and Dad said "what did you do in church with grandma and grandpa" and Will said "be quiet."
